OSHA helps keep employers and their employees safe

Are you a business owner? Keeping your business site as safe as possible is important. Or maybe you’re a business employee? You have rights and resources to make sure that where you work is a safe place for you and other employees. Both business owners and employees have lots of information and resources available through the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA).

OSHA helps assure that employers provide their workers with a healthful and safe workplace. And workers cannot be punished by employers for raising a health or safety concern or for reporting an injury. Free On-site Consultation for Employers

Small business owners can have OSHA conduct a free and confidential On-site Consultation Program. The program identifies hazards and OSHA will work with the business to correct any that are found. OSHA consultants provide advice on how to comply with OSHA standards and they’ll assist in helping you set up injury and illness prevention programs. None of this work results in penalties or citations.

If you’re a worker and you see a healthy or safety risk it’s best to talk first to your immediate supervisor. Use all the available resources at your place of business.
